They eat larger portions of food!
Healthy food, no matter if we’re talking about vegetables, cereal, nuts, seeds or avocado, have the ability to provide the body with fiber, vitamins, minerals and high-quality fats, all of them being nutrients that give the sensation of satiety and maintain the proper functioning of all organs.
However, they should be consumed with moderation, even though it they don’t have as many calories as meat and other animal products, such as dairy, for example.
They don’t consume enough protein!
Protein helps developing and maintaining muscle mass, which in turn stimulates the metabolism. And less muscle means burning fat slower! Many vegetarians know which vegetarian foods are rich in protein, but not exactly how much they should consume.
Doctors recommend at least 60 grams of protein per day. You can find it in lentils, beans, peas, chickpeas, beans and many other vegetables.
They consume a lot of liquid calories
Juices, almond milk, coffee, wine, beer and so on are beverages with a high calorie intake, due to the sugar they contain. And vegetarians seem to love them! The only liquids that are not fattening are water and unsweetened tea.
