The next one consists in consuming these foods properly, in order to fully benefit from everything they contain.

Dark chocolate

Even though¬†sweets are classified as unhealthy, we can’t say the same thing about dark chocolate, which is full of antioxidants which reduce blood pressure, lower the risk of heart attack and maintain blood circulation.

You shouldn’t eat a whole tablet, though, as one serving of 6-8 grams per day is enough. Also, make sure you choose an assortment with at least 70% cocoa and no cream.


We’re talking about a super food here, which, in the same time, is one of the foods you might be consuming wrong. Being rich in vitamins A, C and B6, broccoli consumption helps preventing certain types of cancer.

However, its benefits are reduced if it’s not prepared correctly. The only way to maintain and even increase its ‘powers’ is to steam cook it. If you use additional methods, like frying or boiling, you will destroy all the enzymes that convert glucosinolates in agents that fight against cancer.

Apples and pears

These are the most beneficial fruits that can be included in your daily diet, thanks to the amounts of fiber, minerals and vitamins they contain. Still, despite their popularity, they are also foods you might be consuming wrong.

The best way to eat them is when they’re totally ripe. Thus, instead of eating them immediately after buying them, wait a few days and give them a chance to ripen.
