Avoid sauces that come in bottles
Seriously now, they’re full of sugar, salt and preservatives! Do you need any extra reasons why these turn your salad into a caloric bomb?
Making your own dressing is way better, not to mention that it’s fun and delicious. And if you don’t have the time to do it whenever you want a salad, just make more sauce at the beginning of the week and keep it in the fridge, in a hermetically sealed container.
Watch the portions
Most restaurants put in their salads a double amount of dressing than necessary. In order to avoid turning your salad into an enemy of the silhouette, order the dressing separately and put a smaller amount on your plate.
Use just healthy ingredients
Instead of using mayonnaise as a base for your dressing, try sweet yogurt, avocado or even nut butter! For a more flavorful dressing, try mixing a teaspoon of miso paste, tahini and a bit of apple vinegar. Add bigger amounts if the salad you’re making is for a lot of people. By this, your dressing will be 100% healthy and it won’t turn the salad into a caloric bomb!
